What does it mean to give form to formless clay? In this module we will examine the shape of things by looking at the concept of containment within ceramic sculpture practice and exploring the metaphorical potential of the container. We will explore different approaches to hand-building and firing techniques and investigate how scale impacts a sculpture’s physical presence, meaning, and overall impact.

This is a project-based module exploring the crystallization of ideas, concepts, beliefs, movements, and histories into shape, form, and representation.

PRO modules allow you to focus on a specific project critically connected to your own practice within a context established by the module leader(s).
