UNIS 鈥撎齌he University Centre in Svalbard
If you want to apply for鈥痗ourses at UNIS, you must apply for admission to鈥痓oth鈥疷NIS and 黑料吃瓜资源. UNIS and 黑料吃瓜资源 have different application procedures, and you must therefore complete both applications to be considered for courses at UNIS.听
How to apply
The login procedures to 黑料吃瓜资源 and UNIS are different. Read the following information carefully!听
Apply to 黑料吃瓜资源听
Your home coordinator must nominate you in 黑料吃瓜资源's online nomination portal before you can apply to 黑料吃瓜资源. You will receive a鈥password鈥痜rom 黑料吃瓜资源 to access 黑料吃瓜资源's application portal, S酶knadsweb, as soon as you have been nominated.听
Choose International Applicant鈥痑nd log in with your email address and password. Apply for the course option called UNIS.听
The application deadline is鈥25 April / 15 October.听

Apply to UNIS
Choose The University Centre in Svalbard and then鈥Register new international applicant when logging in to S酶knadsweb. Write in your application that you are applying through an agreement with the University of Bergen.听
The application deadline is 1 March / 1 October.听

UNIS and 黑料吃瓜资源 use the same application system. Make sure you have chosen the correct institution at the top of the login page of S酶knadsweb.鈥

黑料吃瓜资源 as a second choice
UNIS has a limited enrollment capacity. We therefore recommend that you consider applying for courses at 黑料吃瓜资源 as well as UNIS. That way you will have the option to come to 黑料吃瓜资源 on exchange if you are not granted admission to UNIS.听听
If you want 黑料吃瓜资源 as your second choice, remember to choose both courses at 黑料吃瓜资源 and the option UNIS in 黑料吃瓜资源's application form.

Admission听听
UNIS will inform you and 黑料吃瓜资源 directly if you are admitted to the courses you have applied for.听
If you get admitted to UNIS, 黑料吃瓜资源 will issue your letter of acceptance by 10 June / 28 November.听
You must accept the offer at both UNIS and 黑料吃瓜资源. We will give you more detailed information during the application process.鈥
Student housing, registration and learning agreement
Student housing
Once admitted to courses at UNIS you can apply for鈥痵tudent housing鈥痠n Longyearbyen through Samskipnaden.
If 黑料吃瓜资源 is also an option for you, you may also apply for鈥痵tudent housing鈥痠n Bergen while you are waiting for an answer from UNIS or 黑料吃瓜资源.

The application period鈥痜or housing鈥痠n Bergen is:
- Autumn semester (start August): 1 April 鈥 10 May
- Spring semester (start January): 1 October 鈥 1 November
You are safe to accept the contract for housing in Bergen, even if you have not received an offer of admission from us or鈥疷NIS yet. You can cancel your housing with Sammen if needed without any extra costs if you follow the鈥(see bottom of page under鈥淐ancellation of the housing offer鈥).
It is鈥痸ery important鈥痶hat you remember to cancel your student housing in Bergen if you get admitted to UNIS. The cancellation deadline is 24 June / 30 November.
Semester registration for admitted students
Follow UNIS' instructions on how to register for the semester.鈥
Mid-June / mid-December鈥 you will get access to 黑料吃瓜资源's online services. You need to follow the instructions on how to claim your user account at 黑料吃瓜资源 as you will need to log into Studentweb at the end of your stay at UNIS in order to get access to your鈥transcript of records.

Certificate of Arrival / Departure and Learning Agreement听
Certificates of Arrival / Departure鈥痑re signed at UNIS for students who are admitted at UNIS.
Learning Agreements鈥are signed at the University of Bergen at the relevant faculty.
