  • Prof. Martin Fernø 

    Martin Fernø is an award-winning physics professor at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ specializing in multiphase flow in porous media. His research focuses on capillary heterogeneities, permeability contrasts, and fracture dynamics, utilizing advanced imaging techniques such as MRI/NMR and CT to study displacement processes. 

  • Sarah Gasda is the Research Director at NORCE Energy, Professor II in the Department of Physics and Technology at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´, and leader of the Centre for Sustainable Subsurface Resources (). Her research and expertise is in computational methods and modeling of multiphase flow in porous media with particular focus on geological CO2 storage.

  • Prof. Jan Martin Nordbotten

    Jan Martin Nordbotten is a Professor of Mathematics at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ and a leading researcher in subsurface modeling. His work focuses on mathematical modeling, simulation, and analysis of flow and transport in porous media, with applications in energy, groundwater, and carbon storage.

  • Prof. Kundan Kumar

    Kundan Kumar is a Professor of Mathematics at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´, specializing in upscaled modeling, dimensional reduction, and numerical methods for coupled multiphysics processes in deformable porous media.

  • Prof. Helge K. Dahle

    Helge K. Dahle is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ whose research focuses on modeling and simulation of flow and transport in porous media, including hydrocarbon reservoirs and saline aquifers. He has led and contributed to numerous projects on COâ‚‚ storage, developing numerical methods to predict plume behavior and support risk assessment in geological carbon storage.

  • Ms. Merry H. Navjord

    Merry H. Navjord supports project administration and coordination activities at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´.

University of Stuttgart (UStutt), Germany
  • Bernd Flemisch is a Professor of Simulation Technology in the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems at the UStutt. He specializes in computational modeling of flow, transport, and deformation in porous media, with a focus on model coupling, advanced discretization techniques, and development of the open‑source porous‑media simulator DuMuX.

    Anthony Kovscek is the Keleen and Carlton Beal Professor of Petroleum Engineering at StU and a Senior Fellow at the Precourt Institute for Energy. He researches multiphase flow in porous media, with applications in energy storage, unconventional hydrocarbon recovery, and geological carbon dioxide sequestration.

National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC), Brazil
  • Marcio Arab Murad is a senior researcher at LNCC, specializing in multiscale computational modeling of porous media. His work focuses on fluid flow, transport, and geomechanics in complex geological structures, bridging fundamental physics with practical simulations.

Delft University of Technology (TUD), Netherlands
  • Sebastian Geiger is a Professor of Sustainable Geoenergy and Energi Simulation at the Department of Geoscience and Engineering at TU Delft, where he leads research integrating reservoir characterization, modeling, and simulation to support the transition to low‑carbon energy.

Imperial College London (Imp), UK
  • Sam Krevor is a Professor of Carbon Sequestration Studies in the Department of Earth Science & Engineering at Imp, where he leads the Subsurface COâ‚‚ Research Group investigating the physics of COâ‚‚ migration, trapping, and storage in geological formations to support climate‑mitigation technologies. He also serves as Editor‑in‑Chief of the International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control and is a Senior Research Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

  • Rick Chalaturnyk is a Professor of Geotechnical Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the UA, where he also holds the Energi Simulation Industrial Research Chair in Subsurface Energy Geomechanics. He leads the Reservoir Geomechanics Research Group, focusing on subsurface processes such as unconventional resource geomechanics and geological COâ‚‚ storage, and has been involved in major CCUS initiatives and facility developments supporting advanced experimental and monitoring capabilities.

China University of Petroleum, Beijing (CUPB), China
  • Zhenhua Rui is a Distinguished Chair Professor at the CUPB, where he also serves as Associate Dean of Carbon Neutrality Future Technology and Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resources and Prospecting. He’s an expert in COâ‚‚ capture, enhanced oil recovery, reservoir engineering, and geological sequestration, leads major national research projects, and has published extensively on energy and subsurface systems while holding prominent roles in international scientific organizations.

Ewha Womans University (Ewha), South Korea
  • Baehyun Min is a Professor in the Department of Climate and Energy Systems Engineering at Ewha, specializing in geoenergy, carbon capture and storage (CCUS), and subsurface energy systems modeling.

Heriot-Watt University (HWU), UK
  • Florian Doster is a Professor of Multi‑Scale Multi‑Phase Flow Modelling in the Institute for GeoEnergy Engineering at HWU. His research focuses on understanding and simulating multi‑physics and multi‑phase flow processes in porous and fractured media with applications to geological carbon storage and other subsurface energy challenges relevant to the energy transition.
