Semester dates
The academic year at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ is a total of 40 weeks and divided into two semesters.

Each semester the University of Bergen offers a Welcome Programme for all new international students.
Autumn semester
Autumn semester overview
- Lasts approximately 19 weeks
- Starts in    (mid-August)
- Ends on 20 December
The date for when your lectures start will vary each semester.  Contact your faculty for more details.
Important dates in the autumn semester 2026
- Beginning of August (week 32): The Welcome programme for international students will be published in May/June.
- 1 September: Deadline to register for courses and exams in
- November-December: Exams are held throughout the semester, but most of them will be held during this period. Please check each course page for more details.
- 20 December: Official end of the autumn semester.
Public Holidays: There are several   throughout the year in Norway.
Spring semester

- Starts normally in week (early in January)
- Ends on the 20 June
