Silvia Gómez Jiménez is Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics at the Complutense University of Madrid. She received her PhD with Cum laude distinction for her dissertation, entitled Espacios de religiosidad en la poesía latina cristiana (s. IV–VI), which examines literary topoi in epigrams related to the construction of Christian buildings.

As part of the RADHEART project, her research adopts an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of literary studies, history of religion, and sensory studies. Focusing on Latin Christian poetry from the Western Roman world (4th–6th centuries CE), she investigates how architecture and ritual spaces are constructed as emotionally charged environments. By analysing textual cues related to practice and performativity, her work examines how the activation of the five senses contributes to shaping embodied religious experience and fostering forms of radical communal commitment.
