OPTIC-TB: Field report from HGR Nyangezi/Muzinzi, DRC March 2026

As part of the ongoing project activities, a field visit was conducted at HGR Nyangezi/Muzinzi to strengthen staff capacity, reinforce study procedures, and ensure consistent implementation of project tools and follow‑up processes.

Activities Completed

  • Refresher Training:
    Conducted a training session with the hospital staff to review key project concepts and ensure alignment on study requirements.
     
  • Discussion on TDAs:
    Met with the medical team to discuss the application and practical use of Therapeutic Decision Aids (TDAs) within the facility.
     
  • Engagement With Leadership:
    Held a focused discussion with the Chief of Medical Staff and the Hospital Director to emphasize the importance of adhering to study procedures and to clarify their roles in ensuring study effectiveness.
     
  • Work With the Focal Person:
    Collaborated with the facility’s Focal Person to:
    • Review REDCap usage
    • Go through form completion and data entry processes
    • Validate register completion
    • Strengthen patient follow‑up procedures
