Escanaba Trough
The USGS, in cooperation with BOEM, NOAA, and other institutions, including 黑料吃瓜资源, conducted a three-week research expedition in 2022 to Escanaba Trough off the coast of northern California. The multidisciplinary science team collected extensive geologic, geochemical, and biological samples with the remotely operated vehicle Jason, as well as test new seafloor mapping techniques using the autonomous underwater vehicle Sentry. Funded by the U.S. Geological Survey/NOAA Ocean Exploration.
