Teaching & Learning as Journeys of Possibility: Growing Together in Dialogue, Difference, and Emergence
We hope you will join us for our next very exciting instance of the TeLEd Monthly Event Series. This month’s speaker will be Anna Santucci, Associate Professor and Associate Director leading in the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of Virginia (USA). Before her recent move to Virginia, she led the MA in Teaching and Learning for Higher Education at University College Cork (Ireland). Her transdisciplinary work promotes interculturality, equity, and justice in higher education teaching and learning via participatory arts, critical reflection, and dialogically relational co-creation. Her experience spans over 10 countries, including 100+ publications, keynotes, and contributions as well as several professional leadership roles for national and international organizations.
In today’s aching world fractured by hate, pain, and countless ruptures fueled by uncertainty and divisions, how do teaching & learning scholars and communities serve as beacons of critical possibility? How do we collectively envision and enact higher education futurities that dare to imagine, create, and heal - promoting sustaining and sustainable actions that make a difference day by day, across our local to global spheres of influence? Highlighting and connecting insights from international scholarship on hope, trust, intergroup dialogue, play, and partnerships in higher education, this session invites participants to reflect on practical application within their specific contexts and explore together how we cultivate emancipatory agency, shared responsibility, and courageous institutions where all students, teachers, and colleagues feel empowered to learn and grow with reciprocally enriching curiosity.
