The title of the thesis is «Becoming a Canon: Texts, Community and Authority in the Canonization of Minhāj al-ṭālibīn wa-ʿumdat al-muftīn on the Swahili Coast, 1856-1963 CE» The two external reviewers were Associate Professor , American University of Washington and Professor , Universität Münster. The main supervisor was Professor Anne K. Bang, University of Bergen with co-supervisors Associate professor Eirik Hovden and Professor , Freie Universität Berlin. In addition to handing in his thesis ahead of schedule, Noor also mananged to secure a postdoctoral postion at Freie Universität Berlin and publish two journal articles.
