Decadal and seasonal geodetic mass balance monitoring of Storbreen glacier from UAV and aerial data

This Master's project was designed for Ingrid J酶rgensen Valstad who started the Master's program in Earth sciences, 黑料吃瓜资源, fall 2024. The Master's project is given by the research group Quaternary geology & paleo climate.

Project description

Ingrid will use archival aerial photography from Kartverket to create DEMs of Storbreen back to the 1960s and determine the geodetic mass balance between different time slices. This will be complimented by UAV surveys this september (hopefully), next april, and then again in September that coincide with when NVE take their in-situ measurements. This will allow a direct comparison between the field measurements and the remote sensing data, both on short (seasonal) and long (decadal) scales.
