GAP researcher presented work at the Global Exposome Summit 2026
Researcher Shanshan Xu from the Greenness, Air Pollution and health (GAP) research group presented ongoing work at the Global Exposome Summit 2026, held 27–29 April in Sitges, Spain.

The poster, “Exposome and chronic lung diseases: a systematic review protocol”, presented work from Work Package 2 of the . The study evaluates existing evidence on the exposome and chronic lung diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and interstitial lung diseases.
The project has recently completed the data extraction phase and is ongoing, with further results expected. Within EXPLAIN-IT, a of the , GAP group leader Ane Johannessen serves as Chair of Work Package 2 and Co-Chair of the collaboration.
The summit, organised by the and the , brought together researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to strengthen international collaboration in exposome research.
