Bioinformatics in Bergen Conference 2025
Three PhD students from the Brenk lab presented at the Bioinformatics in Bergen Conference 2025.

On June 2nd and 3rd 2025, the ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊԴ’s Computational Biology Unit (CBU) organized the Bioinformatics in Bergen conference (BiB) at the beautiful Solstrand Hotel in Osøyro, bringing together around 70 bioinformaticians from and outside of Bergen.
The two-day program was packed with scientific talks including two keynote lectures, a panel discussion, 14 oral presentations, and 26 posters. Three PhD students from our group (Abdelhamid Aboulnaga, Alberto Memè, and Ovidiu Todoran) presented posters about their structure-based drug discovery projects. Additionally, Ovidiu gave an oral presentation about the first steps in his project on validating molecular docking models for the design of RNA-ligands.
All in all, the conference presented a nice opportunity for bioinformaticians to meet and discuss hot topics in their fields, all while enjoying beautiful views of the Norwegian fjords.
