Breakfast Meeting Highlights Academia鈥檚 Role in Pandemic Preparedness

The Pandemic Centre will host a breakfast meeting on 28 May 2026, bringing together researchers, policymakers and practitioners to discuss how academia can serve as a key resource in health preparedness.
The meeting features a keynote presentation by Cathrine Marie Lofthus, Director at the Norwegian Directorate of Health, under the title 鈥淎cademia as a Preparedness Resource: Collaboration for Health and Society.鈥 The talk will focus on the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and public authorities in strengthening societal readiness for future health crises.
The event will take place from 10:00 to 10:45, with participants able to join either online or in person at the Borgaskaret meeting room on the 3rd floor of Alrek. The session will be held in English and is open to registered participants. Coffee will be served for those attending on site.
The breakfast meeting (formerly known as Pandemic Breakfast) is part of the Pandemic Centre鈥檚 ongoing efforts to foster dialogue and knowledge exchange on preparedness, public health, and cross-sector collaboration.
