Latest developments in the Convention on Biological Diversity
How does decision making about biodiversity at the global level actually happen? The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is vitally important for working towards the conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity, yet it's complexity can be overwhelming. In this talk, I'll take you through some of the recent developments and activities in the CBD, as well as what we can look forward to as parties prepare for COP17 in October 2026 in Armenia. Topics include the increasing politicization of CBD processes, representation of Indigenous People and Local Communities, and analysis of countries’ reporting on biodiversity indicators (7th national reports on implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework).
