Welcome to this book talk with ecological economist Jennifer Hinton.

Dr. Jennifer Hinton will present her forthcoming book, Game changer: An economy beyond profit. The book offers a conceptual model of a sustainable economic system that we could start transitioning to today: the Not-for-Profit Economy. In this talk, Jennifer will present a brief overview of the for-profit economic system we currently have and what makes it unsustainable, followed by a short tour of the sustainable Not-for-Profit Economy we could have. She will close with some ideas about transformation pathways before taking questions and comments.

About the speaker

Jennifer is an ecological economist, systems researcher, and educator in the field of sustainable economy. She holds a double PhD in Sustainability Science (from Stockholm University, Sweden) and Economics (from the University of Clermont Auvergne, France). The basis of her approach is relationship-to-profit theory, which explains how key aspects of business and markets drive system-wide social and ecological sustainability outcomes. This presentation is for an interdisciplinary audience, so economists and non-economists alike are very welcome to attend.
