We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended the seminar “Cardiac injury from cancer treatment – what does it mean for women?”. It was a highly successful scientific event, with excellent questions and engaged participation.

During the seminar, participants received a thorough introduction to the rapidly expanding field of cardio‑oncology. Many cancer survivors live with long‑term treatment‑related complications, and both nationally and internationally there is growing awareness of cardiac side effects associated with cancer therapy. As emphasized during the event, women are affected more often than men, particularly those who have undergone treatment for breast cancer.
The speaker, Helga Midtbø—cardiologist and associate professor—provided a clear and up‑to‑date overview of how new knowledge can support safer follow‑up and improved quality of life for women throughout the entire cancer care pathway. The strong turnout demonstrates that this is a topic that resonates widely and is perceived as both important and highly relevant.
The Center for Research on Heart Disease in Women extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the seminar scientifically strong, relevant, and inspiring.
