1 in 3 women get high blood pressure, and the risk increases with age. High blood pressure is the main risk factor for heart disease such as heart attack, heart failure, and heart flutter in women. So, it is important that high blood pressure is detected and treated early.Â
40 women of all ages attended a blood pressure course at the Women's Health Centre in Bergen. In collaboration with the Bergen Sanitetsforening, the Centre for Research on Heart Disease in Women arranges blood pressure courses.Â
The course evening began with a lecture by professor Eva Gerdts on high blood pressure and why it is important to pay attention, especially for us ladies. Then there was group work in the use of a modern blood pressure device.
