Short info

Responsible for the administrative and practical coordination of the Master’s Programme in Biomedicine, in addition to contributing to practical teaching in biochemistry.
Work

My PhD dissertation focused on Glutamate Decarboxylase Like 1 (GADL1) and the effects of reduced enzyme function. We showed that GADL1 converts aspartate to β-alanine, influencing carnosine levels in a constitutive knockout mouse model. Research combined behavioral analysis, biochemical assays, metabolomics (LC-MS, HPLC, ¹H-NMR), transcriptomics (RNA-seq), proteomics, and R-based data analysis.

Outreach

Teachers’ Day 2022: “The use of supplements in sports: from lab to arena"
