I am generally interested in the fluid dynamics of Earth’s atmosphere. In the past I have worked on extratropical storm tracks, atmosphere blocking, equatorial waves and the tropical-extratropical interaction.

Currently I am focussed on identifying the sources of uncertainty in climate predictions and projections of atmosphere blocking under global warming. I address these questions using simple theory, atmospheric models of varying complexity and analyzing climate model outputs.
