Alois Pichler is professor in philosophy at the Department of Philosophy and head of the Wittgenstein Archives at the University of Bergen (WAB, http://wab.uib.no/). His research has a particular focus on Wittgenstein's work and philosophy, digital editorial philology, writing and text theory, document ontology, Digital humanities. According to Google Scholar (25.6.2024), his citation impact h-index is 14 and his citation impact i10-index is 20.

Teaching
At the University of Bergen, Alois Pichler mainly gives classes in Examen Philosophicum and Wittgenstein鈥檚 philosophy. He has had a number of Erasmus and summer school teaching assignments in Bulgaria, Germany, Italy and Poland. In April 2017, he has been a guest professor at the University of Innsbruck and taught there classes in Wittgenstein, digital editorial philology and text theory / ontology. In January 2022, he has been a guest professor at the University of Innsbruck and taught there a class on Wittgenstein.
